Unhappy Steering wheel positioning.

My power switch on my Telescoping Steering Wheel stopped going up & down. The wheel does go in and out. I hear a faint one click noise when I push the switch up & down. 2001 LS430 Thanks

The video and pics are great, the only problem I have is they are for and ls400 (94 & 97). My 2001 LS doesn't look the same inside. Does anyone have pics or video for the 2001 LS430 or tell me where the gear is located. Thanls

I thought this issue was covered in this part of the forum, not sure where but I am pretty sure I've seen it a few times. I'll investigate and post the link if I find it again.

Here's a couple links, not sure if there's a fancy video on any of them but I know there's schematics and pictures. LOL, hope this helps.

Thanks utlm8 I seen those posts, My problem is not with the wheel going in and out that works fine. Its going up & down thats the problem. You video was super but my insides are different for my 2001 ls than yours. I really apprexiate you efforts.

Damn.... Are you that.... Nevermind....
Just take off the cowls and you will see everything yourself. My bet is that you need new motor. But you may be able to temporarily restore some operation with white grease. But not for long.

Thanks to all , for some reason it starting working again. Maybe something to do with the valet key that is hidden away for the alarm system i installed 2 months ago. I greased everything up and away I went. this is a great helpful forum. BTW I dont think there is a gear its all in the little motor.
