Retracting Steering Wheel 2001 LS430

Anyone know how to disable the steering wheel retraction? Mine is starting to make a loud noise and I don't want it to break. I think lubing / Servicing this is expensive so I would just assume disable it.

you need to take it to the dealer so they can program it not to retract automatically.thats what i did.

Mine also slightly squeals when retracting in and out but only when it's hot.

Mine seems to do it when it is hot as well - I guess it is not a problem thought it doesn't sound great.
