minnyminh, thanks I will give that a try. So far I've just had it at the base of the windshield.
I don't think it has any type of metallic tint. The windshield has been replaced and is not OEM but the same problem existed with the original.
I made sure the cruise was off. I thought it was laser cruise but when I turn it on the dashboard reads "radar ready" I believe.

V1 Works Like a Charm ...
... no problems whatsoever in a CL LS430. Picks up bogies just as soon as in my other cars. 430's windshield has been replaced with non-OEM glass.
I'd bet money you're having some signal bleed off the laser CC. Just my opinion.

To clarify - My 2006 LS430UL has laser cruise control because I do not have PCS. With the PCS option you get radar cruise control rather than laser. So if you do not have PCS on your UL then you by default have the laser which I would imagine give you a constant laser signal when the laser cruise was on. I also have a val 1 but without laser detection so I have no problems with it.
By the way in your opinion how effective is the laser warning?
I may upgrade mine to laser if it works. Or not if I would then get a constant laser warning.

I have been totally happy with my 9500ix. Laser is intant on that I have seen so catching refractory laser is your only hope. Be wary of driving alone in the dark as KA and laser instant on are faster than my first wifes signature on her check book.
