am new to this club and it's really well arranged

i just bought my LS430 2005 from USA , but i live in ( Dubai, United Arab Emirates ), So is there away how to change the Navigation system To work with United Arab Map.

First, you might need to get a local map DVD, and possibly change the region in the navi ECU, which can be accessed via going to the volume screen, then pressing top left corner, lower left corner, and top, then lower left corners again.

There will be another menu, and options you can use to switch regions. BEWARE! changing the firmware can damage your ECU, first, make sure you find out the region for the UAE area, (check another LS) then perform it on yours. The change is permanent, so be careful.

WORSE case scenario, is that you might have to buy a ECU from a Middle eastern spec LS from a junk yard, and install it.

another thing, that some people here in UAE have done it by inserting a CD in the Navigation box ( to load some data ) then they insert another CD to load UAE map !!!! but they charge about $500 to do it. !! any Clue !!

 

Im not sure what that is, but whatever it is, its not worth $500 bucs. New DVD maps are usually $300-$400 dollars, and thats all i can think of. What other CD's are they inserting? do you know?

 

No idea what was the first CD , it's just a DATA CD , u can see it loading on the Navigation Screen.
by the way , the DVD map they provide u with is Copy not original

i live in the UAE as well,in the Fujairah region and there are shops out here where u can get it done for 500 dhs...havent personally got it done but ive heard about it from friends and technicians!

A visit to any lexus garage will get u the address to the guy who does it!

 

hi guys i have LS430 2001 JAPAN specs from Germany imported in Dubai just want to change or upgrade the Navigation system for that i went to shop and they said because your car is from Germany and has japan navigation system so we cannot upgrade or change the map with DVD you have to change the whole navigation system from USA model then we can able to upgrade

is it right?
any suggestion that anyone know about this issue
