Default 2001 LS430 Navigation Override

I know this has been posted before but I can't seem to make it work. I have a 2001 LS430 and I believe the Navigation is Generation 2/3. I cannot figure out how to make the override work to activate the navigation menus when driving.

The volume selection does not have a distinct menu on my navigation so that trick doesn't seem to work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Push the options button, at that screen, touch the upper left, lower left, upper left, lower left, the service menu will come up, you'll see the override button available there.

I still cannot get the override page to come up. Any other way to access it? It doesn't seem to work from the Options page.

Actually he left out one last step. After hitting the upper left, lower left, upper left, lower left areas of the screen, you then need to hit the lower right portion to bring it up.

What version are you running?

This is also a problem in these instructions. The correct way to do this is:

press Menu [NOT OPTIONS] then select System Options.....when you get to that screen, press upper left, lower left, upper left, lower left then lower right....you will get the tech screen. There you select the options you want.

If the link does not work just search YOU TUBE for NAV OVERRIDE

That's my youtube video but unfortunately for the OP, his car is pre 2004 in which the method is slightly different, but generally the same ideal.

I got it to work with the up top left, down lower left, up top left, down lower left, down lower right. That takes me to the override and it works.

I am now seeing that the override still works with the latest disc on the 2001 LS430 navigation. Any truth to this?

Yea.

The older versions are fine.

Apparently it works with the newer versions too. That's actually what I was trying to find out in another post.
