Default 2004 Ls430

Last Month purchased 2004 brand new LS 430.
Compared to my LS400 1990 which I just retired, found following problems -
1. New seats are air-cond annd heated, but found has almost nocushion which I enjoyed on 90 LS400.
2. Found wing noise coming over window far louder though no air leaking.

Has any one had these problems and how did you resolve it? Pleaase let me know

I agree that the seat is very firm, however with all of the adjustments, especially the ability to adjust the length of the bottom cushion, I'm very comfortable behind the wheel.

There is no wind noise at all in my car below 80mph or so, you need to have the dealer look at that.

What do you think of the automatic windsheild wipers? That is definitely one of my favorite options on the car.

yeah the wipers are cool but they are a pain in the *** when I come out from work at 4am and the window is misty and they just run and run for 5 mins until the 'invisible to humans but not the sensor' water is gone.

I took delivery of my '04 LS430 at the end of July. This car still amazes me every time I drive it. I have taken one long trip, driving about 9 hours one day. We stopped only for gas and food. I also have the climate controlled seats which I find are very comfortable and supportive. After my 9 hour drive I arrived as fresh as when I started. My car does not have any wind noise at all. It's like being in a vault with windows. If you are uncertain about your car's wind noise, ask your dealer if you can drive another LS430 and compare the two.

Default Seat Cushion

I purchased my 04 LS430 last November and I also felt that the driver's seat back had very little cushioning. After driving for over 1 hour straight, I could feel like a bar was pressing across my upper back.

I inflated the upper lumbar support which helped, but I agree with you that the driver's seat back doesn't feel very comfortable. I also wonder if it has something to do with with heated\cooled seats.

Default 2004 LS 430 problems

Thanks to all of you who replied.

I love my new LS 430 Premium pkg as much but I am just used to that 1990 LS400 which I drove almost 15 yeras, 177000 miles , the comparison is natural.

Dealer could not offer much comfort , I did drive another 2004 LS430 to compare. Cushions are same, however wind noise not as prominent as mine. Checking the window seals while driving , we could not find any wind leak. Dealer explanation is that wind blowing over the outside mirror makes that noise. So, when the tint they put on dries, I will have to go back to recheck the window seals.

I have thought of requesting a change of unit if this keeps bothering, if dealer buys into it.
So, please any of you, who has experienced such problems, will be of great help.

You can adjust the sensitivity of the sensor, maybe you have it on the max sensitivity setting?

I love my 2004 LS430. The wipers activate at the right times and run only as long as needed.

I agree the seats were very uncomfortable for the first few weeks--it felt like my shoulders had to roll in and were confined. I inflated the upper lumbar a little but was afraid I might over do it(pop!). Finally, I just said %*#$ it and kept pressing that lumbar button and voila!...perfecto. There's a lot of expansion available. Can't believe I drove around like that for two weeks!

Mine doesn't have any unusual wind noise.

You change the sensitivity of the auto wipers with the +/- adjustment on the wiper stalk. It's what normally would be the delay adjustment.

Make sure that you drive it often... as the car will run out of battery!

We just got ours back from the dealership service department. The service order said to tell customer to drive more frequently or put on car charger. The car didn't start after we left it there for two months.
