Default Code P1605

So i recently got this code to pop up, and i’m not sure what it is, the car idles fine and i can’t seem to find leaks in the system, car has the same amount of power as before but i’m hoping it could be a faulty sensor. Is it possible that it’s just a misdiagnosed check engine light?

Anything is possible. If it's running good then I'd clear the code and see if, or when, it comes back in the future then you'd know ya gotta look for the problem.

This is a manufacturer specific code. It appears to be related to engine knock control.

I'd start checking the throttle body first. I worry that it is badly clogged.

The thing is it feels like it’s running fine, I cleared the code and it came back up again after 40 miles I might be mistaken but I would assume that you can hear engine knocks?

Don't assume that you can hear the engine knock/ping. I have an old OTC scan tool that I use with my OBD-I Camaro and I've seen knock detection and simultaneous ignition retard when I've heard no knock/ping.

Means your ICM is faulty. I sent mine to a rebuild guy in Alabama, he did a great job. Bill Basch 256-727-3390
