Default Need help a few codes/problems :) please

So... I’m new to the Lexus community and posting on here so sorry if I did anything wrong.

I have a 1995 LS400 autozone says it’s a 96 for sum reason... I have a few codes/problems the car is throwing a MAF sensor code (put a brand new maf sensor still throwing code) a EGR code and a knock sensor code (bought the knock sensor will be doing it this weekend) the car is burning super rich I’m probably getting 7mpg or less I’m posting this to get any help i don’t know if the 1 knock sensor is going to solve all the problems but I doubt it the car also doesn’t rev all the way like it’s lack in power or somthing and 2/3 times it starts up but dies but right after I start it again and it’s starts fine it also doesn’t feel as fast as it should be but it does drive once again I’m posting this to get some input thanks.

I think those years ECUs become problems.

I worry that the ECU was not properly fixed. Check the ripple voltage level as is explained in the FAQ page. Or simply see inside of it and check that all QAS capacitors are changed to good low ESR ones that are listed here. QAS capacitors are all printed Nichicon PF(M) or PR(M).

I’ll be sure to check that out on the weekend as well when doing the knock sensor and the knock sensor can’t be the cause of all this right?

This is just my guess but what the owner before you have done was the firmware update. A 95's ECU was needed to update the firmware or to change the ECU due to the reason that the car has a engine halt problem.

There was a TSB that said about this and the firmware was mostly updated and marked. Another TSB said, "89661-50224 should be used replacing 89661-50220 (factory installation 10/1994-02/1995) / 89661-50221 (factory installation 02/1995-08/1995) as a countermeasure for the engine halt problem at certain conditions. For California, 89661-50234 is used replacing 89661-50230 / 89661-50231.

Anyway, you can find more seeing the ECU removing it as is shown here.
