I got the code P0171 so i changed the MAF sensor. After a day of driving i got the P0171 code again. I need a smog soon. Im thinking of failing the smog and applying for the CAP program which if i qualify i get $500 to use to repair whats wrong from a gold shield station. Just curious what might be the problem and will repairs cost me more than $500. Thanks

 

I had code p0171 and p0133 02 sensor slow respnse bank 1 sensor 1. I replaced the 02 sensor for $100. light never came on. not sure this is your problem tho. could also be a leaking gasket, or a vacuum line. do you have any other codes?

 

P0171 - Bank 1 Lean.

Check for vacuum leaks on bank 1. If its good, only thing left is oxygen sensor.

 

where is bank 1?
