Diagnostics??
Well I found a 24 hr. AutoZone, figured I'd change my plugs and wires since my car has a rough idle and poor acceleration (it feels like a dead cylinder). Bad idle, vibration through out.
Fuel system should, *SHOULD* be ok since I had the fuel pump replaced, IACV has been replaced over the summer of last year. So leaves me to believe a vacuum issue or plugs and wires. May be an injector or MAF sensor.
Im not throwing a CEL but I decided to use the jumper wire method since I dont have an OBD1 scanner. No CEL still. I knew i was on the right track because the trans diag. was blinking, but no issues there.
Is there somthing im missing? AC off, throttle closed, radio off...Im baffled

This post is from LSCowboy on another persons thread, and it shows step by step how to check them on a LS400 specifically. Skip toward the end, the beginning part is just a bunch of talking :P

here is a handy test demonstrated on an LS400 just like yours, that will check your ignitors, coils, and the associated wiring to each!

For this work (and most automotive testing), you can use the cheapest digital voltmeter you can buy.
Harbor Freight frequently has them on sale for $2.99 or even free on occasion.
Then, you don't mind so much when the batteries leak after leaving them in the hot trunk for three years :-)
I actually prefer the old style VOM which don't require batteries unless you need to measure resistance (ohms).
