On my sc4 I have just yesterday developed a horrible miss. It is random in the way it sounds while at idle, but under load it is constant. I found 5 bad capacitors in the ECU yet still it was not the issue. No arcing on the wires in the dark. Getting ready to pull the distibutors but not too optimistic.
Mine had the exact same problem. I tried Everything man
Plugs
Wires
Coils
All fuse's replaced even if they wernt popped
fuel filter
TPS sensor
Checked all vacume lines
Ignition control modual
swapped in another ECU
changed fuel pump and lines
checked grounds and even put another ground wire from the block to motor.
For the life of me i couldn't figure it out man. It almost intermittently sounds cammed at idle then under load you can really tell its missing. I couldnt figure it out nor could 3 of my buddys.

Not encouraging. LOL! I've been able to study it's actions under different circumstances and with no load at idle in park it seems to miss badly up to the mid rpm's and then smooths out at 3k or so. I know any missing vehicle will do this so I am not satisfied with that result. Through the RPM range when driving it seems to get a small spurt of power at that same 3k rpm area and up however it is still clearly missing. It doesn't seem mechanical like a bad rotor cap or plug wire or something. It acts like it is electrical and I'm wondering if perhaps I might have these issues with an O2 sensor.
I 100% know the issue is electrical. We literally torn my motor apart to check everything. The cams were fine, the valves were fine, the injectors were fine, timing belt, Everything mechanical was 100% in working order.
It has something to do with the Ignition set up. It could be multiple things failing at once. Like i said we check every known issue we could think of between the 4 of us. wires, plugs, gaps, rotors, caps, ecu's, Modules, between the 4 of us and 4 sc400's we couldn't figure out the problem. Car sat for about a month with a band new supercharger set up, Motor and 6 speed before i said Screw it and parted it all out for my LS swap
I again say the coil or igniter as I had this problem with mine a few years back and replaced both which solved the problem so I can't tell you exactly which one it was.
I may have gotten "lucky" on this one and just have this as the main issue. I kept hearing a spark knock and seeing a flash from this side so I pulled it down and found this.
