Modify your stock air box for a little more sound and 5 rwhp.

With the above box, removed final two mufflers, empty trunk, 1/4 tank of gas, 44 degree weather, 30.4 barometer, some say decent driving...
Ran the times in my sig.
With traction I would have ran 13.9s with NO other changes. Is this slow? Fast? Depends on your definition. I did have a number of people come by in the pits asking if it was supercharged
Held off a modified 350Z until he BARELY got by me at the finish. That occured on another track night with warmer air and I was running 14.5s @ 97mph

Go redneck. Stick a blower on top, straight pipe it, put some racing slicks on it, and then some wheelie bars on the back. Then take it to the track with half a tank full of octane booster and the other 93.
Yeehaw.
- Dont forget your NOS!
The Ls was never supposed to be a track star...I just like that its generally quicker than most vehicles it's age and even some newer ones. Merging in track is cake and passing on a two lane highway is much easier. Basically thats all your going to get out of this car as far as acceleration goes.

This brings back memories - I also had big plans to make my LS a go fast cruiser until I quickly saw there was no easy way to do it. I spent that cash on suspension realted upgrades and now it drives like a sports sedan. If I want to make my LS fast I will buy a crate motor from Jegs and stuff it under the hood
I see why you want to do it though - good luck and share your results

I guess slow is what you compare it to. Its got a lot of power compared to many cars, even a lot of new cars. Especially once you are up to speed, lots of snort in that motor.
I've never thought my 93 was slow, even compared to my 3000GT, I guess its all relative.
I think with some exhaust and maybe headers you can call it a day. Good gains to be found there apparently.
