I see a couple of OEM replacement subs on this thread, but can any one confirm those 8" subs will work on 2.5 LS400? (98-00)?

Couple of the sub's I would look into buying is:
- Rockford Fosgate P2D48 @$100.00 (wired for 2ohm!)

I have the 1998 Lexus LS400 with Nav unit. I just want to replace sub and get a amp for it.

Thanks
Tuan.

My set up

Just finished last weekend.

Eclipse AVN762e dvd/nav system
Alpine PXA-H701 processor(eq/crossover/5.1 surround)
Diamond Audio D600.4(Bi amped front components)
Diamond Audio D600.1(Sub)
PPI PC450 (center/rears)
Hybrid PG/Infiniti Center channel
Alpine SPX pro 6.5" components
OEM Rears(for now)
Diamond Audio S12.4 Flat sub

Sorry i have no pics of the deck?center channel yet.
the controller for the PXA is built in where the ash tray was.
the centre channel replaces the center vents.

here are the pics

She sounds pretty sweet but i need to tune some more and i think i am going to replace the fronts with some VIBE 3 way components over the winter.

Also i still have full use of the trunk and there is still a full size spare and tools under the floor panel.

One of my all time favorite head units. No frills, built like a tank, pretty much does nothing but play CD's well

I just bought a 97 LS (no Nak) and I am going to try to replace the head unit with a PIONEER AVIC-U310BT (screaming deals on fact refurbs on Ebay right now). I read through the whole thread and there isn't alot of details about any harnesses available. I purchased the following two hoping one would work:

SCOSCHE TA02B Wiring Harness for 1987 and up Toyota 70-1761 TWH-950

BEST KITS BHA8112 15 Pin Premium Sound w/RCA 1992-1999 Toyota

The 2nd one has RCAs...I assume so that the deck isn't amplifying into the factory amps for the speakers?

Does anyone have any experience using these or do you have any feedback or suggestions for me?

I would greatly appreciate any help and I will get some pictures up as soon as I can start working on this.

Thanks!

Since we are on stereo's. I was wondering if any of you have connected your cell phone to your stock stereo. I would like to do that if possible. Have a 95 ls400 with the Nak system and would like to connect my BlackBerry. Have heard of the cassette thingys but don't think they would be worth the time and trouble.

I have been reading this post with great interest. I just changed out my old head unit
for a cheap Pioneer. Every thing is now working except the woofer. I also just removed
the old 6 dic changer in the back. Where is the amp at in the trunk? I see what looks
like one on the driver's side mounted on the front of the trunk. Someone posted earlier about one located somewhere under or above the old CD changer; could not find one there. I'm trying to come up with a feasible cheap plan to get my woofer working, with having to spend a lot of green right now. My car is a '92 LS 400 also. Do the blue plug ins that go into the old CD changer terminate on the head unit area? It sure would be nice if I could get a signal from the back to the front, using these blue plug ins. Hope you wont consider me out of order for adding to this post.

Ha... No problem. Hoping for some input from the gurus.

Thinking about the following and want to make sure it will all work with my 1993 Lexus LS400 with the factory Pioneer headunit that is now dead. From what I've read I will lose the factory subwoofer but at some point I will probably switch to an aftermarket amplifier and un upgraded subwoofer in the stock location which I believe will rectify that problem. The car currently has Boston Acoustic splits up front.

Any reason any of this will not work? What say you crafty veterans?

On a different note... why is this so expensive?

That pigtail won't work, I believe, which is why the Beat Sonic is so expensive - it does.

Also, I have the 4200 and I really like it. Search YouTube, some guy made a pretty intensive ~4 part video review on it, helped me make my decision.

That looks great. That's the beat sonic I assume? If the quality is as good as that in the 1st gen application I'll probably go that route.

beat sonic costs more because it's better. lol.

the finish on the plastice is oem match, the brackets are metal, and the adapter retains your factory sub. if you are going to upgrade the amps you can buy the trim kit only for ~$100.
