I know this is quite a hot topic for most Lexus models and some features are the same throughout the other models as well. Please list some of the hidden features found on the LS400 and state the specific generation of LS400. I'll start off with a neat one:

(Worked in a 2.5LS, not sure about the other ones) If you have your rear view mirror adjustment switch turned to either the left or the right, whenever you shift into reverse, your rear view mirrors will point as far down as possible to aid in parking or reversing.

 

...and this would be for a 1LS or a 2LS?

Haha! Didn't even follow my own request! So, when you say 1LS and 2LS, do you mean LS400 and LS430 respectively? Or did you mean it as 1990-1995 and 1995-2000 respectively? I'll edit my original post as well, thanks.

 

1LS would be first gen, so <94

1LS=89-94
2LS=95-97
2.5LS=98-00
3LS=01-06
4LS=07+

 

Well, on the 95, you can roll the driver window up and down with the key........


And it has a "common sense free" cd changer.......

98-00 LS400
If you hold down the unlock button on the key all 4 windows will begin to roll down and the sunroof will open.

same can be accomplished by inserting the key into the DRIVER SIDE door lock and turning and HOLDing it in the unlock position. if you hold it in the lock position it will close any open windows and/or open/tilted sunroof.

89-00 LS400 (applies to most lexus models in this timeframe)
if u want more extension or tilt out of your steering wheel max it out then clock the **** 10times in the direction you want it to extend more in (ie towards you and/or down, as i like it ) and it will extend a tiny bit more than the preset limit.


also, a small note, the OP's tip is describing the auto-down reverse feature found iirc only in 98-00 LS400s and will function ONLY if the mirror controller is NOT in the center position and if the car is in the reverse gear.

 

anyway to close via remote? that would be baller.

In other regions of the world, holding down the lock button on the remote rolls up the windows. Too bad Lexus thought we didnt need that here.

If you have your sun visor facing your driver's or passenger's window, you can actually extend it backwards by simply pulling it backwards in order to block out the sun as necessary.

 

89-00 LS400 (applies to most lexus models in this timeframe)

DON'T do the above it will kill your motors after time ! !


Also the key in door to open window is usless, I don't understand it.

 

I can open my windows from the key and close them using teh alarms remote buttons. I had it wired just for this.

BTW the reverse down on the mirrors on 98 cars is only the passenger side 99 or 2000 has both dipping.
