That's good to know, didn't realize that they were wider in front.. You could always add a 10 mm spacer if they don't want to exchange the rears.

15mm may be a nicer match. OTOH if you plan on dropping it, may hold off and see what you'll want for the fitment and adjust accordingly.

Mike,
I have a 1990 LS400, that I'm planning on getting a set of those OE 18" LS430 wheels in Hyper Black 45 mm offset with 235/40-R18 then get a set of BC coil overs. I want to lower it just enough to get rid of the space between the top of tire and the wheel well. Is it better to use a lower offset wheel when doing this to keep the tire from hitting the lip? Or will I clear with these tire wheel combo? I don't want to have to roll.
Thanks in advance
Pete

I am planning on dropping it but if I'm honest the car looks good as is with these 19" wheels. Makes a big difference over the 16" OEM. I could live with this height honestly but in the back of my head I hear screaming for a lower ride.

Generally those numbers will not pose a rubbing issue. Getting into the 25mm range is at that edge of fender mods. The first gens don't have as generous a fender well so what works for second gens will likely require fender modifications for the 90-94.

Can calculate from this one:

I like those wheels, nice choice. What I meant was hold off on the spacers until the ride height is set. If really low the wheels get more negative camber. Depending how low that can be 5-15+mm more. The guys running air at drive height will poke, when aired out will tuck and be flushed. If doing a tire stretch that allows less offset, many variables to play with depending on your setup.

The rears on ours is an effective 33mm offset on the 8.5" width wheels with 245/40-18's. About 28mm would be nice in the rear and 38mm is good for the front for my conservative tastes. That 10mm you mentioned in the rear is good just minor adjustments based on the your preferences for rear ride height.

im trying to get some Varrstoen ES2 that are 19x9.5 with 0 offset front and back. Im also thinking of putting some Toyo Proxes 4 Plus, that are 235/40R19. Would this setup work if I dropped the car 2 inches and pulled/rolled the fenders?

I love the light blue and gray two-tone combo too... It was uncommon, but old 240sx coupes were offered in a similar colorway - I eat it up
Looks great with those wheels too. Keep us posted if you drop it!
