Blanco, I want to install my clear markers with LED bulbs. Where did you get the 4 element LEDs from?

I saw 4 bulb LED amber bulbs on autodynamic.com at the following link.

http://www.autodynamic.com/transfer/...ED-Amber-4.jpg

I also considered getting the APC Amber LED bulbs like the ones at this link.

http://www.xtremewhite.com/ORD-Light...13-1-1-1-1.cfm

And lastly, I considered the Polarg G-51 Amber bulbs like the ones at this link.

http://www.xtremewhite.com/ORD-Light...38-1-1-1-1.cfm

Does anybody have any opinion about the APC or Polarg amber bulbs?

If you're referring to the front blinker bulbs that share the headlight housing w/the hids, then it's a 1156 type bulb. Single filament 21w. Yes indeed the 1156 is bigger than the 194. The 1156 has the metal round twist type base, whereas we all know the 194 is the "wedge" type, and only 5w.

Just for clarification the REAR turn signals are 7440's, fronts are 1156, at least on my 98 GS4.

My LEDS are made by www.jamstrait.com. You can see pic 2/3 way down the page. They come in multiple colors. I also noticed that my local AutoZone is stocking these as well as some other models. BTW, I tried the "Honda Mod" for $4its and giggles, to swap the 7443/7440s. It doesn't work, and even if I forced it, it would look RICE. If you search my posts you can find a thread where I posted some pics of my amber leds.

Never tried APC lights, so I can't comment. And I've only tried the m4s from Polarg, can't comment on other bulbs they make.

Personally, I like theseSeries WF3126 , but at $25 PER BULB w/a 10 unit min order I'm hesitant to commit. Not to mention there is no amber color yet. Plus I haven't measured it to see if these are actually larger than the 194s we currently use.

Hope I didn't confuse you more. Good luck and let us know what you decide on.

I am currently in the process of replacing all my lights with Polarg in my GS 400. I noticed the rear puddle lights(in the bottom of the door) and the read map lights don't come on. Should they come on when the rear doors are open? The map lights come on when I manually turn them on. I thought they used to, but I may be comfused with my other car. The front puddle lights come in fine.

Thanks,

This is new to the market

http://store.autotoys.com/cgi-bin/wf...roduct/13968-1

BTW : Dont put 194 LEDs in the front parking brake/highbeam section. It is WAY too bright. The reflector in that location is just too reflector (almost mirror like)

I had the SAME problem with my rear passenger door. Sometimes it would come on and sometimes not. Then it stopped working. It is a COMMON problem.

Bought it to the dealer, they replaced the door switch.

First off, great thread, very informative. I want to buy some PolarG M4s, can anyone recommend a good light retailer for me (online or otherwise)? Keep in mind I live in Toronto and some places won't ship here. Also, I despise the yellow colour of the DRLs. I'm tempted to swap them out, but rominl's warning that the half wattage will leave them yellow anyway has me wary. Is there any improvement at all? I will only take the plunge if there is, because I never use high beams. TIA

You could always just disable your DRLs. BananaGS has a diy webpage w/pics on how to do it. Very easy, and if I remember it's free, or VERY cheap.

sorry i missed the post. well the thing is, no matter what bulbs (that are safe) will make the DRL looks good at all, it's running at 50% wattage so it's going to stay yellow no matter what. that's why i never bother to change that bulb on my is3 at all. and if you want to change the high beam bulb (DRL), yes it's 9005

Default how do you remove the d2r hid bulb?

I need some help in removing the d2r hid bulb. I attempted to remove it but was afraid to continue to move forward because it seem s pretty difficult to see how it is secured in place.
