I will be replacing my brake light bulbs with this LED - http://www.spiderlite.com/store.html in about a week or so. Scroll down the page to the 3-Arm model. That will fit a 01 tail light. Not sure if you have upgraded your 99 tail lights to the 01 style - http://www.l-tunedparts.com/product/?id=1159
whats the bulb # for the rear turn blinker? is it the same as the rear brake bulb?
Rear turn signal
7440

Tail light
2825
7443

Stop light
7443

also which color led would u recommend for the rear brake light? red or white or does it really matter?
White would be better as the lens is already red

i checked out superbrightleds.com and they have a variety of number of leds ranging from 12-30 leds/per bulb with narrow or wide angle. which one will fit my 99 GS3 and what is the difference between single and dual filament?
If I were to buy the LED's from http://www.superbrighleds.com - I would try the higher number of LED's per bulb as those will give more light output. Having said that, however I don't know how reliable those bulbs are. Notice that superbrightleds.com does not give you a warranty? Your best bet would be try out the 30 Led bulb and see how it works for you. If it burns out eventually, it's not that much of a waste of money anyway.

As far as the turn signal LED goes, you will also need to buy a Load resistor kit otherwise they bulb will flash too fast (it's simply because LED's light up much, much faster than filament bulbs). You can also find the load resistor kits on superbrightleds.com .

Dual filament simply means that a bulb has two filaments in it. These type of bulbs are typically used in Halogen bulbs (note not HID bulbs) for headlights. For example in my wife's 97 Maxima, the headlight bulbs are dual filament - one for low beam and the other for high beam.

You can also remove the one big screw inside the fender liner and move it out of the way just enough to get your hand inside to loosen the nuts that hold the side marker (10mm).

I read through all 11 pages and this is a great thread. How do you replace the license plate bulbs. I have one out but not sure what has to be removed to get to it.

I've done this several times and you have to go through the liner. Remove the clips that hold it down and stick your hands in there. You twist the bulb holders and pull the bulbs out. It's pretty simple after you know how.

Good Luck!!!

Has anyone changed out the glove box light with a superbright led #74? It wont fit on my 01 GS300. It seems like the bulb is too big for the housing Whats also wierd is that the light doesnt work at all. I guess ill have to tear the glove box apart and follow the wires back.

Bizarre, the bulb seems too large to fit in the plastic space. Do you think it would cause any harm to the bulb if I dremeled a small section of a couple sides? The diffusion of the light may be adkward. I may try it because it seems like if I did that, the bulb would slide right in.

Anyways the light doesnt work regardless. I tried using the bulbs from the footwells that are still functional and the light did not work. Im hoping its just wiring and I can just resplice some wires. Could the problem be that the switch isnt noticing that the door is open?

On another note the #74 lights look nice in the footwells. I will have to take some pictures and upload them here. I took the diffuser covers off because I like how its brighter.

are there non stock, more colorful bulbs for the dashboard functions? Newer models are flashier than my old SC400...and I was wondering if I could say, change the white backround to blue???
