Default Footwell Lighting?

I would like to change my footwell lights to red. I did some searching but couldn't find any info. Anyone done this? Just a matter of swapping some bulbs?

Its a #74 and is fairly easy to replace with a little bit of patience. The bulb is small so getting the OEM bulb out can be tough. Some guys have used pliers and others have used rubber gloves for traction.

Wait a sec... #74 is the base for a 194 bulb right? Or is that not right?

i changed my footwell lights today in my 06 GX70.

the original LEDs were soldered into a small circuit board. EDIT: that small curcuit board is inside a small plastic housing. take a good look at it and you should be able to figure out how to open it up. i had to de-solder the originals, solder in the new white LEDs and ream out the opening for the bulb.

assuming you have a similar setup........you may want to reconsider doing it if you're not willing to got through all the trouble, it wasn't as simple as swapping the bulbs out for me. hopefully you won't have to go through all the trouble i did but DAMN my footwell lights look good!

i started a thread with pics of all the LEDs i put into my vehicle. go check it out. i should have taken pics of all the stuff i had to do to get some of the lights in.
