so lets talk Q45 mods!!!
Now I know the bulbs are Philliips but it does not indicate if they are 6000k or anything. The ballast has japanese writing all over it so
I have no idea what it is but either way I'm pretty
b/c maybe I dont need to get a seperate HID kit anymore. is there anyone w/ Q45 knowledge that can tell me any info on these headlights? what are they rated at? 6000k i'm hoping.... what type of ballast does Nissan use? Also is there anyone in Southern California that wants to help me do this retrofit? if not I'd rather not work on it and i'd be better off sending it to LCA575 or Illusion Lighting.
What do you guys think? should I use its' components for my Q45 retrofit?
any info would be greatly appreciated.....
PS The quality of these headlights were not as good as i had originally thought. Seems like the Lexus headlights in all models are far better built then these Q45 lights. The HID Socket is loose and feels flimsy, the HID plastic cover is a little dinky round cover that is taken off easily.... all n all I am positive that Lexus has much more quality based products and fabrications. Either way though....they are big heavy and oh so beautiful!

i would definitely stay with the ballasts that come with the headlights, they shoudl be quality stuff since it's going on the q45 for god's sake
that should save you some dough.

OMG how did you end up with a set of these? Like they're really exclusive and hard to come by. My suggestion, if you don't know how to retrofit, you're best leaving it to the pros. With these units, you really don't want to go 6000K because like most people out there don't know....the higher the number= the lesser light thats emitted in exchange for a solid purple color. Its not even the color you view when you see the flicker effect of projector lighting. Most of those outputs are done with 4300K bulbs used in a housing like your Q45. In easy terms, after letting Johnny and the gang over at Illusion do your work, you'll be set. Enjoy your new retrofit, I know I'll be enjoying mine!
