On my 99 GS400, I have Navi and want to keep teh stock head unit, at least for now. I already have the hi/low RCA convertor and will be running the wiring shortly. What I can't find is where to get a signal for remote to turn on the amps. I have searched and found it for the power antenna on SC400's but not on GS400. I did see somebody post something about another piece to get to send a signal to the amp, but then I also found a post of another GS that was able to do it without that 'box'... Can somebody help me find the signal wire to get my amp to turn on?
I used a PAC Trunk-LOC.. its a line output converter that also connects to power and ground and provides a 5V turn on for your amps. It taps into one speaker wire, to get a signal, and uses that to turn on and off your amps.. Its pretty awesome. Also has RCA's and stuff too just like any regular line output converter..
