just installed amp, now have questions???
i followed a step by step how to on here about installing an aftermarket amp and sub on top of my factory ML system. i bought the sosche line converter and tapped into the front woffer and into the sub woffer lines for sound, i tapped into the skinny orange wire all the way to the back of the amp/rear of the car for the remote signal. i turned it on and everything worked fine. then i turned it up to 45 and it cut out and then came back on a few seconds later. what would cause this? only thing i can think of is the remote wire, i cant see that carrying enough juice. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks
i'm not an audio expert, but i;m pretty sure its not your turn on wire. the turn on wire is just there to detect a signal to tell your amp to power on, its not "carrying any juice". the power wire connected to your battery is what is providing the juice. i'm not saying its the power line. i'm just saying its probably unlikely to be your turn on wire.
also you tapped into both your front woofers and your stock sub? you should only have to tap both front woofers, or just the rear woofer

well its not just the sub that turns off its the entire system. if i run the sound at 40 or lower it runs fine and stays on. power line is single gauge and i have run this amp, sub and line for a year now in my truck with no issues.
also i will probaly re tap the line for just the front woffers because im missing some sounds i know are supposed to be there

it sounds like it is clipping, play with you ohm settings, because you are running signals off an 8 ohm signal. then re run your switch wire up to the fuse box by the diver side footwell and you should be good.
it could be caused by the switch wire not have a constant 12 v. so it is best to run it off a fuse
