Default "error" message when accessing CD player

When i hit the CD button on the radio...it says "error"....i tried putting a new cd and still nogo. I thought that my burned cds was a problem..but a brand new CD is the same. Is there like a reset code like the Honda's for Lexus where you have to enter to code for the radio to work? But my radio works just fine...just the CD gives me the error. Thanx in advance for the help.

do you have the 12 disc changer? if so then theres your problem .... it could be a number of things try taking out the magazine and blowing all the dust out of it mine also used to say error and not play when it got hot in my trunk, like after sitting in the sun for a good number of hours

There is a reset button in the CD changer, just inside where the cartridge would sit, kind of below the eject button side.

So your CD changer doesn't play anything? Can you hear it changing discs? Have you tried putting the CD into a different slot in the cartridge?

yes, i have tried putting it in a dff slot. nogo. Also...i can hear the changing of cds. I does recognize which slot has cds in it..but as soon as it reads it....the "ERROR" comes up. I will try the reset button. Anymore suggestions would be great. Thanx so far to all the guys replying to this post.
