Default ERR3 Code on CD Player

While changing disks (6 cd stock Nakamichi) my unit suddenly stopped working and displayed a ERR3 code. The disk # will change when I try to move from disk to disk but I keep getting this code. Anyone know what this means and how to fix? The radio functions all work fine.
Thanks

The ERR3 was apparently a jammed disc. It seemed to fix itself after driving over a few good bumps. Maybe this is how we can save money on our Lexus cars..try hitting them before we take them to the dealer!

Default ERR3

Whenever a CD gets jammed or if it cannot read a disc, that error code shows up.
If a CD gets stuck, the CD changer will continue trying to either return the CD to the cartridge or insert it into the player itself depending on where in the process the CD gets stuck.

I know with my CD changer, sometimes a CD gets stuck because the cartridge itself does not line up properly with the CD when it is being returned into the cartridge. When this happens, the ERR code would stay constantly on and even pressing the 'DISC' button would have no effect.
In cases like this, you have to manually remove the disc yourself.
There should be a button on the inside of the CD changer which the lid presses when it slides shut.
Open the lid, press this button, and then the eject button. You might have to wiggle the cartridge, or not, for it eject. Either the stuck CD would be reinserted into the cartridge and it will eject normally, or the cartridge would be ejected (which you would then take out) and repeat the ejection process (as though the cartridge was still in the changer) to get the stuck CD out.

Hope this helps.

Carib,
Thanks for the input. Is yours an in-dash unit? Would that make a difference? Mine is in-dash so would I need to take the unit out of the dash to perform this procedure?

Default oops.

Hey sorry for the very la-a-a-a-a-te reply.
I have a 92 SC400 and the changer is in the trunk...
That's what I do when the cartridge gets stuck...

Wouldn't know how to help you out after 'seeing' your's in an in-dash system.
My bad for not realizing your have a LX470...(didn't really ready your signature at the bottom of your post)...

Hope you did manage to solve your problem...it has been a while.

Carib.
