I know right. I bought it off a family friend for 10k last year. Has 209k miles and runs like a champ. So smooth and powerful. They were built like tanks but ride like pillows. Had a few people drive by and want to buy it from me. Never took it off road but hear its one of the best (if not best) OR vehicle ever made. Even has a backup cam which in 2005 was a big deal lol
My brother has a 2012 (I think?) LX......200k miles and it gets so much off-road use up in the mountains at his weekend house. I think he loves it more than he loves his RR Autobigraphy.
Got my battery change in the Lexus dealer for 350$. Wanna try other batteries(higher CCA and around 200$) but workers are too fearful to work on LC as they took too much risk for free installation service.
Now I have a battery charge issue, I read the manual pg 258:" disconnect your ground cable when recharging"
It says the same in my manual, but I have a battery maintainer permanently connection and in turn connect that to power. No problems whatsoever, and I suspect this instruction may be in regard to preventing/minimising sparking which could in theory ignite any hydrogen gas that may be present. Dead easy to follow the advised protocol, but out of interest, what is your "battery charge issue"?

It is " I want to charge battery safely (the manual is telling me a horror story about releasing flammable gas that could cause a fire or explosion), but the manual says to disconnect the ground cable, which I do not know if I should do it and how to do."
Your response is "I charge the battery but not following the manual, but so far it is fine"

Personally I think the chances of an explosion or some such are somewhat over stressed. The reality is hydrogen gas is lighter than air and therefore will literally float away once the battery cover is lifted but if you were ultra cautious then physically fan or blow it away. If you don't know how to disconnect the earth then it may be you should entrust this task to someone who is mechanically competent?
I'm sure it's a product liability issue. Lawyer speak.
There's an absolute micro minimal chance of any battery explosion.
On the other hand, IF the remote Does Occur, the ramifications of an exploding acid container on the consumers face and chest warrant erring on the side of extreme caution.

I had to recharge my battery 7 days after delivery...I didn't connect directly to the battery in trunk. Instead, I used the terminal in the engine bay and grounded to metal...Car did not explode! I think these instructions apply to direct battery charging. And if you choose to do it that way, then simply disconnect the black cable before charging as instructed.

Hard to find someone to disconnect my ground cable each time I want to use the battery charger lol
Are you grounding the black cable from charger to a piece of metal under the hood? It shud work.
Yes, the cable is too short to reach the suggested ground part under the engine cover, so I have to pick a piece of metal near the fuse box. But for my charger it does not work
