Same here. I use it when it sits in the Garage for an extended period of time. Very easy to use and gives you peace of mind that the battery will start strong.
I’ve used the CTEK type with several cars. Some so sensitive that their lithium batteries get wonkers without constant attention, hooked up after every outing.
But has anyone had a battery go flat in an LC from just sitting in a dark garage? And if anyone has had it happen, do we have any idea what rate of parasitic drain our cars present? How long to expect an LC can go with no charger/tender and still provide that great sound on demand?
Yes sir! Happened to me upon initial receipt of my factory order. I live about 30 miles from dealer. Parked car in ManCave to wait on Tint job. A few days later, went out and the car would not start. Bought new charger because for one reason or another, old charger would not work on this gel battery. It was a pain charging this sucker.
After charging the car's electronics went totally bonkers. Car was not even 7 days old. I thought I had accidently screwed something up when I tried to charge it. Lexus
offered to come out to pick up car. But I declined that offer and returned car to dealer. Service tech told me not to never let this car sit more than 7 days to insure good charge. So I make it a habit to do just that!

FIND ANOTHER SERVICE TECH FAST!!
Any service tech that says you cannot park the LC for more than 7 days is not qualified or is just talking out of his a*s. The parasitic drain with the car parked is not enough to discharge the battery noticeably in 30 days, dare I say 90 days!!! If your battery was dead in seven days you have another issue.
Currently got mine hooked up to a maintainer and given the max output of 3.8 amps/hr I can easily calculate how much the battery has discharged. Now been hooked up for something like 10 hours and still not fully charged. Given it should take 19 hours approx to fully charge, then it is in need.
I've used a maintainer(s) since 2012 when I bought my Z4 garage queen. Sold the car just recently meaning the original battery was by then 13 years old! Still cranking strong, and I suspect entirely down to the maintainer.

Appreciate your advice. But I can't argue with what the service tech said and I would never let any of my cars sit for 30days without starting anyway
unless I had em on a battery tender. Just too scared to take that chance.
.... but I want to know what's better... connecting the maintainer to the front hood connectors, or directly to the battery in the back?
If in the trunk, I don't want to fully close it and kink the rubber while it sits in the garage for 4 months, but even if the manual says the trunk light is supposed to shut off after 20 minutes, it doesn't for some reason... don't want that light to be on for 4 months...
