There are 3 main brands 1. Battery Tender 2. Noco Genius 3.Ctek. They are good benchmarks for evaluating other brands.
If your car is idle for long periods it is important NOT to use a charger or float or trickle design. They tend to overcharge.
The new Maintainers do not overcharge and will also prevent sulphation. The sulphation causes premature death of the battery.
Worse, sulphation can cause a sudden failure when you try a hot restart. That will strand you.
So be very specific about what technology you buy.. I have all 3 brands mentioned above on some of my collector cars.Technical comparisons are hard to find but this may help:
I just called Lexus dealorship in my area and asked about LC battery price.. He told me $300 for replacement battery. I mentioned the $1700 battery he said that
was for the original one in the car. The replacement battery is $300. Call another dealorship.
I usually try to stay ahead of the game when it comes to replacement parts. From my research it looks like a Group H6 or H7 (94R) battery will fit the LC. Prices range from about $150. to $200. Also, may I suggest an AGM battery. My experience with them is that they last far longer than a conventional flooded battery.
