I feel you on that. The SC was a gorgeous vehicle in her day. And you have loved and cared for her a long long time. Your bond with her is strong. Even though she’s old now, you will never abandon her. Just like I said earlier. You will grow to love your LC in the same way.
neat shots in the same spot!
but NO comparison between then cars.
the SC is a smooth quiet one, with a lovely interior (great wood!), but not that quick. the LC can also be a smooth quiet one, but a lot quicker and has its wild side when the rpms climb.

I’m pretty sure the sc outsold the lc 2-1. Especially the sc430 which moved a ton of units when they first debuted. Considering they were selling for 80k in 2002 (or 120k adjusted for inflation) it makes the LC sales numbers look terrible.

yarg… they only moving about 2k lc’s a year.
vs

but that's still 95K in today's dollars so pretty close.

i do think the LC is a far more sophisticated (and complex) vehicle than the SC430 though, and i don't think lexus ever setup to build a ton of them so i think limited supply is a (deliberate) factor.
ditto, i also like the rariety but i got a feeling this is the swan song for our cars. I doubt we'll see another generation with an NA v8. potentially a hybrid or EV version but this is the last honest lexus.
and 80k was canadian, didint know how much it was in the US for you guys, but it looks like it was around the same.

Bit---Lexus was initially hoping for 500 units per month. And if they could sell more, I am sure they would have been happy to produce them. So your statement that they deliberately kept production numbers down is categorically false.
source for this statement?
LOL. no need for the angry finger wagging emoji and 'categorically' emphasis, oh great oracle. i stated an opinion.
but even 500 a month would only be 6K a year, less than half the 14K SC430's at its peak.
