Florida Statute §627.7288 mandates that if you have comprehensive auto insurance, your insurer must waive the deductible for windshield repairs or replacements. That means:
  • You pay nothing out of pocket for a damaged windshield.
  • This applies only to windshields, not side or rear windows.
  • Your vehicle must be registered in Florida.
  • The damage must be covered under your comprehensive policy (not just liability or collision).
Same here in GA. I don't pay jack!

Yeah likely will lose some discounts like claim free or whatever. They'll find a way to get the premium up even if indirectly.

Let's see what happens...
Bro, I repaired and replaced windshields for years. It's a done deal.

NP how does this keep happening to you? Just unlucky or is Florida’s roads full of loose gravel that gets kicked up?

Your guess is as good as mine. I live around a ton of ongoing construction so I think that is the culprit. I also drive a lot so more time on road. I think the LC is a magnet for rocks around all these big SUVs and pickups.

As far as I can tell these have all happened on one road. Would be nice to avoid that road but it's by and far the most convenient one to get me home for most of my driving

Perhaps I need to just start being hyper aware of my position around others and start bubble driving.

Cars with long hoods tend to also have very angled windshields...which is ideal for cracking when hit by debris. A more upright windshield, (less of an angle), would be slightly better at deflecting debris, without damage.

Ok so windshield drama aside, today I received my 2021 Inspiration Series shift ****! Finished in black Alcantara instead of standard leather. IMO all black interior with Alcantara headliner option cars should have come with this factory, but for $150 shipped I was able to get it and will keep the leather one in case this one wears poorly over time. Will go nicely with my steering wheel when it arrives

I thought about getting the matching Inspiration wheel but it was over $1200 and is full Alcantara. Instead I went with a custom sport-style wheel flat top/bottom with carbon fiber top + bottom and Alcantara sides. Should be here by August, I hope!

With an alcantara steering wheel and shift **** in Toasted Caramel, I’d feel like I had to wash my hands every time I got in.
