Yes there is that. I’ve not tried an external DAC. Was hoping to tempt you to try it and let us know

Recently got a Cambridge Audio 851N “Network player” for the home system and can definitely report it’s not snake oil, That little silver box let’s the music out of the recording very well. But I am listening in a quiet environment on a decent system that has been tuned to the room acoustics. Will we notice such a change in a car where the variety of driving and life skills around me is competing to entertain me? Not likely. On a GT experience, drive a few hours to the beach, we might.

I have Qobuz and like it better than Tidal -- but only for the reason that it's compatible with Sonos speakers which are numerous across my home.

Otherwise, both services are excellent when it comes to lossless streaming.

Default Thank you

I can not thank you enough for posting the cut it out. I was so disappointed with the stereo and now it’sawesome. Lexus could do an easy fix on this. Thank you again.

You are more then welcome. I thought the same thing, I paying all this money for a crappy sound system. Good thing is I’m an engineer and I like to solve things. I did send this fix to Lexus, maybe I’ll get a cut. 😂

Thanks from me again too. My day today was far better because I had 99.9 % no interior resonances in five hours of bass heavy jazz at good volume. Lot of Stanley Clark.

With the original equipment, I could not take volume past 30% without contant blurps.

so i've been trying tidal hifi (they have a $2 60 day trial, and i'm using master quality where available) with phone connected via usb to the car and it sounds good. that's about as pristine an audio path as possible.

i tried a couple of same tracks on amazon hd (now included in amazon unlimited) and it sounds flatter/different to me than tidal, which is a bit odd.

there's still something about the ML that seems off/weak to me, but it's not terrible with a great sources like these.

Pull from bottom edges? It comes off very easily. Pretty well constructed. And the plastic cuts easily with some small snips.

Seems like we have come upon a workable solution. Five hours across the State yesterday with Tidal and the blurp panel removed was actually pretty nice. I’m just not seeing a need to get into some custom installations that involve taking the interior apart and several thousand invested. I’m sure some folks have done some remarkable things going that route, but what we have now is good enough for my needs.

This set up sounds better than the base stock system on our Bentley Continental GT (not the $9,000 Naim option) or the Bowers and Wilkins upgraded system on our McLarens. A smaller interior an acoustic challenge.

However, my $22,000 from new Honda Civic Si daily has a moderate $2,500 custom install and sounds better than any of these. Decent acoustics and I had no fear of the little damages here and there that installers are going to do.

thanks. on the coupe it's VERY difficult to get to the 'bottom edges' as they're behind a curved center cushion, whereas on the coupe the bottom is exposed.

i tried again from 3 sides this morning (using a plastic trim tool to get 'started') and even using a lot of force, it seems to be moving the entire center section away from the seats!

oh well, i was more curious than needing to change anything.

This past weekend trip I was going to study any perceivable difference in wireless versus wired connection to the phone.

However I realized that without wireless charging on any long trip the phone will be tucked away in the console on cable, as nav and music use considerable battery.

And not sure if my ears are trained enough to notice such a difference in a moving vehicle.
