I wonder if now Lexus will allow me to order either a white or USB convertible w/toasted caramel interior along with a BLUE top? Now that would be an 'inspiration series' for me
I tried to do exactly this when ordering my '24 bespoke, the blue top was linked to the white interior so I got the brown top instead.
Do you have a good dealer that understands the bespoke process? If not, I can recommend one. That's the biggest problem I'm finding with bespoke orders, not what Lexus will do but what the dealers know and don't know what to do.

I am anxious to see the 2026 configurator come online. Ever since I got my '23, I've wanted to upgrade to a new USB w/toasted caramel and a BLUE top or a white one with toasted caramel and a BLUE top. My local dealer here once told me they could order me either with a black top first and then SWAP IT OUT with a blue one (for a huge cost). For $130K, I think Lexus should build an LC exactly how I want it if I'm willing to wait for it and write the big check

Can't argue, but seems the Lexus production model is slanted heavily to production efficiency rather than customer desires/options. As a first time Lexus buyer, I took months to accept this philosophy, but finally, finally have. End product, which I am so satisfied with despite "exact" wants, is just superb for the price. Just guessing Lexus philosophy has play here, but really can't confirm at all.
Thinking about this Bespoke process. Could I just place identical orders with multiple dealers simultaneously and see which one gets the build picked up by Lexus first? Wouldn't this increase the odds of getting one built? Obviously I'd have to put deposits down for the builds but if they're refundable...

Not ethical. Pick one and stick with it.
What happens if both got built? you’re going to buy both?
It’s a custom order tailored to you.

What are the chances that both orders would get confirmed to be built by Lexus at the same time?
Not sure I agree that this would be unethical. This is very different than say, commissioning a custom piece of furniture that is only relevant to a single buyer (me). Lexus doesn't guarantee these Bespoke builds ever get done, we're simply placing requests and hoping the dealer we choose gets allocated a build slot. You see Bespoke LC's sitting on dealer lots around the country all the time because the original buyer couldn't complete the deal for whatever reason. Maybe finances or life circumstances changed, maybe they simply got tired of waiting for Lexus to build it, etc. The dealer would still have a vehicle available to sell or it would just get allocated elsewhere.

Exactly. That’s because of people like you. Now they have a custom vehicle that they have ordered for someone for a specific agreed price sitting on their lot. And in order to move that, they can’t get what they original wanted for it. Dealers do not want a vehicle that sits.
I also don’t know why you want two identical cars that you put the order in for in your area. Isn’t the idea of Bespoke is getting your unique car?
I don’t know why you asked the question if you’ve already decided to do so. But you do you. Don’t be “that guy” remembered by the dealership when you need their help.

I don’t see it as unethical at all.
The Bespoke process is a bit of a black box. There’s no guarantee Lexus will approve a build, and dealers don’t control allocations. Putting down refundable deposits at more than one store just slightly improves the odds that one of them gets picked up. Only the approved build gets my final sign-off and becomes nonrefundable.
This isn’t like commissioning a custom sculpture where the artist is stuck if you bail. If a build gets approved and I pass, the dealer can still sell the car. As mentioned, plenty of Bespoke LCs end up on lots when buyers back out for all kinds of reasons.
I’m not trying to game the system or tie up inventory. I’m just playing by the same vague rules Lexus created.

Zeus,
You make a compelling case and have given me 2nd thought. Initially I felt that this is somewhat unethical. However looking at all the variables it’s actually the Lexus Bespoke and allocation process that is the root of the problem. They should commit to a genuine Bespoke ordering system and allow buyers paying the $3500.00 bespoke premium to actually customize and get what they really want in a $100K+ vehicle.
For example the bespoke process doesn’t permit a buyer to order the Dynamic Handling Package. Come on Lexus!

Okay. So why stop at 2 dealerships. Why don’t you put in deposit at all your local dealships. In fact, do it across the nation as well.
Most likely, Lexus will see the duplicate builds for the same guy with the same address and will just bounce the order right back to the dealership.
good luck with your game.
