Based on previous statements he prefers the LC 500 to BMW or Mercedes competitors. He has now purchased the Porsche 911. David may possibly find himself longing for the GT car experience after living with the Porsche’s sports car for awhile.
Humans are known to change their minds. 😊
In all fairness he is not running down Lexus or the LC 500 by any means at all. He’s said on several occasions that the steering feedback is numb compared to the Porsche cars. I don’t believe that those who are familiar with both would necessarily disagree with his assessment. That’s probably the “rasison d’etre “of Porsche vehicles. For the record he said that the BMW (Current generation) is even more numb feeling than the LC 500. These are just one reviewer’s thoughts based on direct driving experience, nothing more.

“There is no question that the LC 500 is still an amazing car, it's just not the right car for me. I've owned a number of Porsche Boxster GTS and now I have a new 911, and I still prefer these over the LC 500 in terms of driving feel. But I still love the LC for other reasons, such as the refinement and reliability.”
So it seems there’s still very high respect for the LC 500. The man just wants a sports car.
Peace.👍

People will always care about other opinions. Some more than others and that's not going to change. Especially when it comes down to pride of ownership. Your post in itself is your opinion about other people's opinion about a car reviewers' opinion. You're caught up in the opinion web just like everyone else. That's just my opinion though.

Very well stated.😀
I remember walking into my Lexus dealership a few years ago and in the showroom, they had a roped off LFA. I had never seen one in person and was psyched about being able to see one in the flesh. I honestly wasn't blown away by the styling. I get it.... amazing engine, exhaust note etc. but the body lines looked a bit dated. I recall thinking it looked a bit chunky and something about it just didn't flow. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to own one at the right price.
I remember when the local Lexus dealer was selling a new LFA at sticker price and it sat on the showroom floor for quite a while. I was somewhat interested but with two kids in college at the time and the LFA still costing more than I paid for my first house in 1986, my wife convinced me to pass on the opportunity. In hindsight, I left the money in the market (which was great until recently
) and several years later spent a fraction of that amount on my '23 LC cabrio (which I agree is better looking than the LFA; and the top goes down).

I agree! I took my LC to our local cars & coffee monthly event last summer in NC (during their Japanese car focus event) and it barely got a look from most of the attendees. They seemed to be more focused on souped-up Subarus, Hondas and Toyotas. It was a total waste of time, and I haven't been back since.
