I tried to watch the video and got annoyed by "if Lexus can FIX the steering..." over and over. Finally 16 minutes to realize "oh this is a GT car"
The steering feel is intentional, not something Lexus "hasn't figured out how to do." I am curious to drive a 2025 and see how big the difference really is in terms of steering feedback vs. pre-25 models. I also notice he isn't driving in Sport+, the steering feedback is significantly better in that mode.
David has done numerous LC 500 reviews over the past 4 years and has praised this car to the heavens (DHP and non DHP versions) he’s very much aware of the different driving mode settings. He did an excellent video of his visit to the LC 500 factory featuring the Takumi technicians. He’s stated multiple times that he believes that this is one of the very best built cars available to purchase.
Bottom line is he just wants a sports car driving experience more so than a top tier GT driving experience. He acknowledges that he will sacrifice refinement, ride quality/ comfort and NVH if he goes for the Porsche 911. He really wants that driver/ road steering connection the 911 will deliver. I’ve driven the 911 many times and understand his objective. My priorities are different and would prefer the premium GT LC 500. This is why the frequent YouTube comparisons with these 2 cars (And Corvette) don’t register with me. They strive for very different driving experiences.
Not a fan of this guy. He puts out numerous videos over the years gushing over how amazing the LC is. He's measuring the panel gaps and testing everything. He even goes to the plant in Japan that builds them. He's tested and driven numerous LC's over the years and then decides to buy one. Now he claims that he didn't realize it's a GT car and not a true sports car like a Porsche 911? He even claims that he's owned Porsches in the past. How does that make any sense? If you ask me, he's just a content creator who also gets bored with things he buy's and jumps into something new over and over again.
In case anyone is interested here’s a video of David’s visit to the Motomachi factory to observe assembly of the LC 500 by the Takumi technicians. Exceptional quality control and attentive work ethic in my opinion.
Enzo I have never heard of the guy till this thread and I wouldn't give 2 nickels for his comments or views.Hopefully he will sell and go away.
To be honest I've watched all of his LC videos and he's one of the many reasons I bought the car. He was over the moon about the car and wouldn't stop gushing over it. That's why I'm so disappointed and shocked about his 180. I mean he still likes the car, but for him not to realize it's a GT after all of the testing he's done is just odd.
maybe this is how he makes $ and he needs to keep it fresh with new ideas and clips.
I really wonder how much these guys are making off of Youtube. Constantly trading in cars is not cheap. Easily at least 5k in losses and often time, 10k in losses. Even for that '24 inspiration series, I would think the loss would be in the 10k.

He's got a nice subscriber base but he isn't making a killing on youtube with that many subscribers. More than likely he's just one of those guys that gets overly excited about a new toy, and then once the honeymoon wears off he gets bored and convinces himself to move onto the next big thing. He stated that he's owned numerous Porches in the past. That 911 he just bought will be flipped to something else within a few years guaranteed. Nothing wrong with that. Many people just don't like the way he looks so depressed while discussing the LC in his most recent video.

Lol.
He also stated he has some other issues with his LC500 that he doesn't want to cover in the video. I wonder what they are.

You make good points. He doesn’t just like the LC 500 he greatly admires it to this day. He runs through a multitude of cars and a 1 year ownership period is long for him. He simply wants something different now. I suspect he’ll enjoy his new 911 but at the same time acknowledge what he’s giving up in comparison to the LC 500. He may eventually tire of the noisier, harsher and less refined 911 (Relatively speaking) after a period of time. I can’t name a single car that is without flaw in some driving / automotive parameters..
