Default Valve Spring Recall - $$$ Bonus

I just called to book in mine for the valve spring update.

I notice nobody has mentioned the $1500 purchase certificate (for a new/used car purchase, expires apr 2011), or the $250 parts/service certificate (expires jun 2012) that came with the Recall Notice. The service adviser also told me to empty the gas tank and i will get a free full tank on pickup.

Are these Lexus Canada features only?

I'm pretty sure that is a Canada thing. Another Canadian mentioned that in the main thread for the recall. If it is a global thing then there will be some seriously po'ed people out there who never got their rebate!

I think your right about that.

Anyway, $250 and a tank of gas doesn't really compensate for the $10,000-$15,000 more i paid for my 350 here than most of you paid in the USA (even though the dollars are close to par).

Maybe their conscience is gnawing at them (.....not bloody likely). Its more likely the embarrassment of 3 major top engine rebuilds on the same car in 3 years!

I had the valve springs done on my GS as a service bulletin and NOT as a result of the recall, and I didn't get squat. Not even gas. :P Actually, my bonus was I got the car back damaged but that is a whole other story.

Default 6-Year/100,000 PT Warranty & $1,500 off

I had the valve spring recall performed on my IS350 on 9/23. Today in the mail I received a letter stating that my power train warranty was being extended to 6-years/100,000 miles and a certificate for $1,500 off the purchase of a future Lexus vehicle was included that is valid for 1 year.

I got the $1,500 certificate and a $500 gift card (that will be mailed later I guess). The dealership near me, Longo Lexus, always fills your tank if you take a loaner out which only happens if it's going to be a day+ service.

Hmm I just received my notice last week but it didn't mention anything about a parts rebate. I'll ask my SA when I schedule my appointment.

I didn't bother waiting for the letter, nor have I received one; I got my valve spring recall done maybe a month ago. Call and they will ask you for the make and model. If it matches, they will than ask for the VIN, and if that matches the range, you can get the valve recall done. Otherwise, you don't need it and therefore they won't do it for you.

I got the same thing as MKE IS350. I received the letter of the offer after the recall was done (3 weeks in my case). As a matter of fact I actually called Lexus and asked them about the recall which they confirmed then they called my local Lexus dealer to set an appointment for me.

I just got my recall letter last week and there was no mention about rebates, gas etc. Then again, they filled up my tank when I had the gas pedal recall done and they never mentioned that before hand. I brought the car in with pretty much a full tank, so I didn't really get anything from them.
