CPO has a 100k mile warranty on far more than the powertrain.

hence you're not getting the same thing the CPO folks.

The base car already had a 6 year powertrain warranty FYI, the only thing this extension does is change it from 70k miles to 100k miles.

If you want more info on the CPO warranty, and all the myriad things it covers beyond powertrain, that info is here:

^ Yeah, that 30k mile increase is what I'm talking about though. Part of the value in buying CPO is the extended powertrain mileage coverage. This doesn't apply to me, but I'd be pretty PO'ed shelling out the extra money for that coverage when people are now getting it for free. Again, I know the CPO warranty is much more comprehensive, but the powertrain warranty is arguably the most important part of the overall warranty and having that extended for free when you at least partially paid for it seems unfair to me.

For those wondering about the Parts/Services Gift Certificate, we got ours in the mail a couple of days ago and it's a Pre-paid Visa, so - you can use it for whatever you'd like, F-Sport parts included.

We had two cars go in for the recall, our GS or our late IS350. The GS had the standard warranty on it so we received the $1500.00 off a new car and the warranty extension to 100,000 miles. Our IS already had the 100,000 mile warranty, so we received the $1500.00 off and a $500 Gift card on that car.

All and all, a very nice gesture.

^ Interesting. So is the $500 gift certificate for CPO people only then?

I would assume CPO's would fall into the same category; ours was a Lexus platinum warranty extension.

so if i had a carbon build up issue and they said they would do a top engine cleaning and a valve spring recall on my is250 do this mean I get a gift certificate too or would I need to go ask them about it.

I didn't think that the 2.5 motor was part of this recall?

I just got off the phone with the service manager at the Lexus dealer across the street from me, and I asked him about this "gift" Lexus is giving out. He had no knowledge of this at all, and has not heard anything about this. He told me to call Lexus corporate and find out the details, so that is my next step...

Did you buy your car as a CPO or with an extended warranty?

Because some people are getting the gift card and some aren't and I think it might be related to the warranty status of your car.
