New (ToMe) '08 ISF Issues
Finally picked up an ISF. It had some known issues but also developed a couple of additional issues on the 13hr drive home. I am a bit nervous as they are all electronic in nature.
I am currently browsing here trying to find answers, but wanted to reach out directly to see if anyone has experienced the same issues.
1. "Audio Off" This was a known issue when I picked her up. My first stop was to pick up some fuses and replaced the battery as it was past age.
So we left the battery disconnected for 10mins or so, and I replaced the 10am RAD3 fuse from the PS box. No go. Audio remains off. I did the heat insection of the amp, and it was indeed too hot to touch (which means it is being powered I assume). So now I am not sure as to if I should go with swapping the amp, or head unit. Everything else of the display works fine, when I enter the diag screen, Audio is listed in red as NCON.
2. Downshift paddle not down shifting. This developed mid drive. Was literally working one minute then would not work the next. Up paddle works fine, as does down and up via the stick. Any ideas?????
3. Window buttons. Known and further developed while driving. I picked it up knowing the PR switch from the drivers door did not function. Using the PR switch however, functioned the window properly. What changed was, by the time I got home, NONE of the drivers door switches for the other windows worked, and NO switch CAR WIDE worked in auto up/down. Each doors switch does function up and down while being held. I can assume this is a fuse, but looking at the diagram, cannot determine which one to check.
4. Seat Pre Sets. Developed while driving, at the same time as the window switches failed. I had set 1 and 2 prior to heading home, made obvious comfort adjustments while traveling and have been unable to set the new function OR recall Preset 2. Again I assume this is a fuse issue. If you have any other experiences or info please holla!
Mike

Once you rule out flood damage
take it to a good ‘electrical’ chap. Not many of them around. Make sure you find one who knows his stuff and have him track things down
i had a short in an LX (bad ground in running board lights) and it did all sorts of things electrically totally unrelated (I thought) to the system that was shorted.
electric gremlins can be a nightmare and cost a fortune to track down if you don’t have someone who really knows what they are doing.

Never heard of 1 or 2 occurring. If the paddle is bad, that's an easy replacement. I would try looking at your ground cable on the battery and the battery terminals and maybe lightly sanding them. Replace ground cable if needed.

It's possible you may need to examine the AMP in the trunk further by removing it and checking the underside..
Likely the Sunroof ventilator port has failed..
See this thread:
Found out why our is250, is350 and ISF audio amps fail.

Thanks for this info. I did indeed take the AMP out yesterday but did not see any obvious issues on the casing. I will go further and open it up to check on the interior conditions. The original owner did state the night it went out there was crackling and popping from multiple speakers.
