I can confirm 100% that the Valenti relay works properly. Apparently, I did not install it properly at first.

Happy to report that my replacement SmartTap is running strong after three full days of testing. It was tested extensively and all features work as described by DD. Pretty sure the first one sent out to me was from an earlier batch

Ya know, it's funny how important the tap and flash feature really is. I have 3 flashes on my truck, non adjustable, and I really missed not having it on my F. There was a post in the GSF forums about 5 weeks ago describing the feature on the GS F and how to adjust the no. of flashes. I was envious, then 4 weeks later this thread show up. Now, I have it, and it sure makes life easier. However, I'm still amazed at the number of boneheads who somehow don't seem to know what a turn signal is.

I'm old enough to remember when cars didn't have turn signals. They became standard equipment in 1956.

The unlock 20-sec arrival works fine. It won't work using keyfob. You have to push the unlock button on outer door handle for it to work. Just the lock 20-sec delay works fine from the keyfob

What year is your vehicle? I have a 2012 and don't have am unlock button on my door handle. I only have the lock button. When you grab the handle, that is when it unlocks. I bought the smart tap and all works well too except the arrival.

That button locks. The door unlocks when you trigger sensor inside door handle.

I called diode dynamic regarding the arrival situation and they said they have been made aware of the situation and are trying to work on a solution. Once the issue is rectified, they will contact their buyers and replace it. They need some assistance as they are looking for test vehicles so if anyone is in the area, feel free to give them a call. Maybe you can negotiate something with them hahaha

I stand corrected. The unlock arrival feature is not functioning as I had thought earlier. Just the lock feature is working. When I first tried this I had pushed the lock button thinking it was the unlock
To bad, I wish the opposite were true. The unlock feature to me seems more desirable than the lock feature. I'll setup a ticket with support at DD also. Hopefully they will rectify this issue

Thanks for pointing this out

All functions work so far except the unlock lights on for 20-sec (arrival) delay. The lock function w/20-sec (departure) delay works, one touch 4-blink works, and the variety of hazard light patterns work. I was mostly after the one touch 4-blink feature. First day only, will post/comment if something goes south.

Do make sure you pull the right relay. On my 2014 the OEM relay was light tan (P/N 81980-30170). There was a similar looking relay further up the dashboard that was green. That one is evidently for your stop lights... don't pull that one (it is also keyed differently). Lou's post (#43) on the prior page with the link does show the correct relay location and mounting point, just don't assume your OEM relay is the same color.

Regards,
- Kirk

great vid.

Is there anyway to disable the strobe hazard lights and just keep it normal?

The SmartTap is programmable. You can leave it totally original if you wish, or program one of the various stobe modes. It has a lot of customization for the end-user.

Yes the SmartTap is fully programmable so everything can be turned on / off or changed for the amount of time / blinks.
