Your iron number is really good for Mobil 1.

Last load of Mobil 1 in the IS F. Switched to Renewable Lubricants 5w-30 PCMO based on the results I am seeing in the GS F. Hopefully the numbers will look even better after this run.

Have you checked out the oil olympics on YouTube? You should see how far down the list Mobil 1 is. Have you ever considered Amsoil?

That one is royal purple vs amsoil. Look at all the guys videos he has on oils. He tested quite a few. Below is his channel.

He is testing AMSOIL signature series (Best) vs regular RP, not fair comparison unless Royal Purple HPS (Best) is being compared (in same viscosity.) Just my observation. I do use RP HPS and also Amsoil oil for my Porsche and I do have AMSOIL membership, no bias here, just pointing out.

True, he does take suggestions and will compare oils you suggest. If you watch all the oil videos that go up against each other is pretty interesting to watch.

Not to thread Jack as I'm going to send my UOA next year but does anyone else use aftermarket oil filters besides the OEM ones?

Not even once for me in over 10 years...

I have only used the OEM specific filter for the IS F / RC F / GS F.

Usually I order 4 at a time and keep my own inventory on hand.

A GREAT filter IMHO. Been using it for about 3 years now

LoL Lou... Well played... I've been reading behind the scenes

I still don't pay for any of the Lexus parts I purchase as I cash in all my Lexus Visa rewards points

Interestingly enough the engineers are still applying OEM Lexus Filter: 04152-51010 to the IS F, RC F, GS F and sure enough it's listed for the LC500 & LC500h

They could have easily replaced by now if that was the plan... But it doesn't appear to be happening.

At the end of the day we use what makes us happy..

Does anyone have a report/wear numbers of regular synthetic Mobil 1 vs Mobil 1 EP? I'm trying to keep it simple as those oils and some others are easily accessible to me at any given time vs ordering Amsoil or going to a specialty shop that has it as an example.

Since I put Renewable Lubricants 5w-30 PCMO in my IS F, the start up rattling noise has stopped entirely. I ran Mobil 1 and Mobil 1 EP ever since the factory fill and free Lexus service ended. I have 170k miles on the car now. I didn't like the wear numbers with M1 EP, the iron was significantly higher, and the load capacity of M1 EP is significantly less than M1. But at this point, I will never run it again. The wear numbers from the GS F are phenomenal (posted in the GS F forum) running RLI 5w-30 PCMO.

My last couple, below. Nice of them to recommend the air filter change. It was one of those Injen Supernano-web filters that was looking pretty grimey. Ordered myself another one between the change as you can see and looks like the motor's back to looking healthy.
