Hello everyone. I have been receiving many requests for the swap documents to install the newer 2UR found in the RCF, GSF, IS500 and LC500 inside the Lexus ISF making it completely functional, by repining the ISF ECU. This swap is not one you do as a simple upgrade for more power but a replacement if you have a higher mileage first gen 2UR or one that was damaged. This is becoming a very popular interest.

There are two version of the 2UR engine, Gen1 and Gen2. The Gen2 comes in the RCF, GSF, IS500, LC500.. there were many changes.. bigger fuel system, bigger intake manifold, bigger throttle body, bigger intake, different combustion cycle, different pistons, different rods, different cylinder head components. So it would be beneficial if necessary, to change the engine to the newer Gen 2. Also, you will have more support since the Gen 2 engine is being installed in cars today, while the older Gen 1 2UR might have discontinued parts.

I have put together repining documents for those who would like to use the RCF engine and harness with the ISF ECU for a cleaner installation. You can also do the swap with the ISF harness which i do not recommend as it is more problematic and not as clean since you would need to cut and extend the ISF harness. for more information on this please refer to the previous thread that covers most of the details. you can find that thread here; https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-complete.html

Been considering this swap with a 6MT for my 2011 IS (formerly 250).

Good to see it's been done at least in this way. We'll see if I ever pull it off.

The 6MT is a bit on the weaker side so the 2UR might be too torquey for it without proper reinforcement. That's why it's not a popular manual conversion.
