I was wondering if it is possible to 5.0 v8 swap the is350 convertible with the Lexus v8 and transmission. If so what all would have to be changed on the car to make this work. The only reason I ask is because they don’t make an ISF in a hard top convertible. If I were to do this I would reinforce the frame due to the extra torque as well as upgraded suspension and brakes.

 

Yes, it is possible. Another member on the ISC thread was in the process of swapping the ISF engine in to the ISC but its been many years since he started with little to know update. The biggest challenge will be the wiring and getting the engine to work with the ECU and such. Expect to spend about $10,000 for the engine swap alone and another $10,000 to swap the front bumper, fenders, hood, fabrication, all the supporting pieces for the body panels, paint, suspension, brakes, so on and so forth. These are just estimates but are pretty accurate. with the amount of $ spent doing this swap, you can buy a ISF it self or even a RCF.
