The problem seems to manifest when the car has been broken in a bit, so it's not surprising that it's not caught during a PDI.

Happened to me at exactly 780 miles.

Code was exactly as predicted. Looks like Lexus Canada hasn't gotten wise to it yet but I assume it's just a matter of time.

^^ That is because we have few cars on the road up here. As these start popping up, I suspect they'll address the issue. I am a bit disappointed that Lexus USA and Lexus Canada don't collaborate and share more information like this. I mean I have told my dealer about and I knew more about the issue related to this error code than them, and to me, that is odd. If Lexus does monitor these forum posts, you would think they would investigate and share the information.

For whatever reason, some car companies run their divisions almost like water tight compartments. Subaru was very similar.

I've owned 2 STI's prior to my IS500 and totally agree.

True that. But the market in the USA is 10 times. So I would assume the problem is 10 times in the USA. And Lexus Canada and USA are not the same. Just like Toyota Canada and USA. Something to do with Penske ? They get all the cars first and the sell to the Toyota USA dealers with extra crap ! Where is in Canada. We order the leftovers right from Toyota or Lexus.

From what I read a while back when I was in the market for a ISF that the last year of the ISF (2014) there were only 3 units for the entire Canadian market.

I wonder how many have survived? What is the value of one in good condition?

I can understand and that is why I will be curious to see how many IS 500 sell in Canada and whether Lexus Canada will keep this available long term for us. I mean a RWD V8 in Canada is not what most people buy and that could make this car even more unique in our area. I know some will use it as a daily driver with winter tires but those that do are mostly enthusiasts. Most people spending 73k Canadian (+ taxes) on a car will want something that they'll be able to get their money's worth and that is why I think these will not be incredibly large sellers in Canada but I could be wrong...
