I believe the sound settings are based on the audio source. You might want to check that if you haven't already.
As for Spotify, just like zer0 said, you can change the streaming quality in the Spotify app. I'm on a plan, if that matters. Btw, I think Spotify is rolling out LDAC streaming soon (finally!).

Lossless just started in our area!
When you're connected to android auto plus the menu button on the car, go to audio, and change your settings. You have to do it for every audio source.
Also, turn the volume normalized in Spotify OFF. It normalizes audio by making all audio super quiet.

So I can still access the Lexus interface sound settings when I am on Android Auto? Ok, I'll give that a try. Thanks!

Yup! And it will adjust them for that source.
Android used to have a built-in EQ to help things too, but they won't let you adjust bass anymore. Kinda lame. It also lowers the output volume when you enable the EQ so I leave mine off now.

So I tried this, but the minute I hit menu, my Android Auto closed and I was in the Lexus interface. However I did use Spotify's built-in equalizer and it's .. Average.

Yeah, average lol. I wish we had a real EQ in this car, like a "pro" mode or something. It would also be nice if AA music was better. Even on a wired connection, a USB drive still sounds better than Spotify streaming lossless.
