Default Rear Brake Options

I'm going to convert to IS-F front calipers and pads soon. I was wondering if there are any good rear brake options for our cars? AFAIK we cannot change rear calipers without losing our parking brake functionality. With that in mind, are there any good pad and rotor options for the rear brakes to help improve braking performance while maintaining the stock rear calipers?

Rumor is that rcf 2024 will upgrade to electric parking brake. If they do, it should be hot swappable with is500 integrated electric parking brake.

One of the other brake threads covers this.

Lexus IS 500 GSF / RCF Brake upgrade - Page 8 - ClubLexus - Lexus Forum Discussion

The RCF uses the same emergency brake system as the GSF. So, you would have to buy quite a few parts to convert this to that system. That would include actuators, cables, etc. Not that it couldnt be done, but that it would be costly and time consuming.

I noticed you are putting ISF brakes on, you should just convert to GSF/RCF calipers. Well worth it.

There's probably very little benefit, other than appearance, in replacing the rear brakes anyways given how little braking work is done by the rears. Better pads is probably enough (pads to match whatever you're putting in the bigger front brakes).

I'm having a hard time finding anything other than OEM rear brake pads when I search for stuff for this car. What other models share our rear brake pads?

I know we share front brakes. I'm not 100% sure of the rears.
