Thanks. I also found the same reviewer test driving the F-Sport versions of the IS300 and IS300h on the track.

Incidentally it gives us a better look at the new Lexus test track built at Shimoyama.

The video a few posts up of the Ultrasonic Blue. I was quite surprised at the black wood on the top of the steering wheel. I’m not sure how I feel about that on a F Sport. If you noticed when he panned over to the center console there was also some black wood near the ML logo. I think the black wood is also on the door panels. It’s so unusual for Lexus to put wood in a F Sport, usually they put wood in the Luxury optioned vehicles.

It also looked like from the mineral white F Sport that the interior color red looked much different than the red from the launch videos. This one looked more like a deeper red rather than the bright red we saw at launch. Did Lexus change the color based on all the negative feedback on that bright red? I hope so because that red they showed at launch was awful but this darker red looks awesome.

My guess is these are prototype vehicles and the red interior we see on these will not be the red interior they produce.

 

I was reading the original press release and it said that cars with the dynamic handling package get an exclsive ash trim, maybe thats the wood

 

The press release said Circuit Red was one of the offerings. I'd tend to believe that rather than prototype testing cars. Rioja is the darker of the reds, but it's not been mentioned by Lexus for the F Sport.
I believe a wood steering wheel has been available off and on in Japan for quite a while on the IS. Could be an option just for that market and not for ours. We shall see...

 

I thought the guy who showed us the prototypes at the race track said stay tuned for his video of him test driving the car. Where is that video?

 

Mike is going to squeeze into an IS? He's a very tall guy and didn't have much room in my IS F. That would be interesting.

 

Will the new 10.3 screen have a back up camera like the RX when you put it in reverse?

What is it with reviewer playing in the rocks? It's annoying to hear crunch crunch argh!!
Kinda a weird review, he didn't even spend a min or so with the new 10.3 screen or show us car play or put it in reverse, does it have a back up cam? Also kinda let down that Lexus could not have added a power trunk close switch on the top of the trunk, even BMW has that on the 3 series. Step up to the F Sport which is going to cost more, it's missing some features already on other brands. The caramel leather color is really nice but they over did it by adding it to the dash, it would have looked classier without that.

So now we know why there are no drive reviews yet.

 

Backup cameras are mandatory for all cars at least in US, it not only has backup camera 360 surround view camera as well. There are cameras on front grill and one under each side mirrors. Some of those cars in YT videos are preproduction models.

 

I just want an in depth review with an FSport model. This is a half-assed review with a base model. Mehhh
