Relatively new owner here, IS250 and when I have the lights set to "Auto" they work fine at night but simply do not turn off when I turn the car off and lock the doors. I lock the doors using the outside door handle. Even when using the key fob and pressing lock they do not turn off. I've come back out after 15 mins and still on.
Any suggestions? I've searched and searched the forum here, but using whatever search words I can think of only gave me other problems people had or a few posts with zero replies.
My car's headlight don't turn off immediately if I lock using the door handle but they turn off after about a minute automatically. If I hit the lock button twice on my key fob the lights turn off instantly but if I only hit the lock button once they take about a minute to turn off just like locking from the door handle. If they were really on for 15 minutes without turning off take your car to the dealer.

Yeah they just simply don't turn off. I even have gone inside thinking that the key fob being near the car had something to do with it.
I've gone inside a department store, had time to shop and they were still on when I came back.
Is it possible the trunk was opened or a door was ajar? Sometimes I pop my trunk to unload groceries and the lights will stay on the whole time the trunk is not latched shut.

I'll double check that but I'm pretty sure the car would say that on the screen in front of the steering wheel right?

Yes, it will say that.
Mine occasionally does a long beep thing when I shut the engine off. No message on the console. Tone continues until I get out, then close the door and lock all doors. I'm not sure what it's trying to tell me. There's no message on the dash when this happens. I'm sure the manual has the answer, but I haven't looked it up. Sorry for rambling OT.
I don't know what year you have but yeah, when you lock the door with the handle they'll stay on.. or even with the key fob, you press the lock ONCE, it locks.. lights are still on.. when I press the lock for the SECOND time.. my lights always turn off, they should definitely not be on for more than 15 minutes lol.. even if I leave the lights on, I think they turn off in a minute or two without 2nd unlock press.

Yup this is true. But what I do is I hit the lock button twice on the remote so the lights go ahead and turn off. I don’t feel the need for the lights to stay on after I walk away, just my personal preference.
had this issue happened and never got a exact answer of what was wrong because it comes and goes. even when i unplug the battery and plug it back in they still stay on. some things to look at is make sure your sensor on your dash that detects sunlight and what not is clean. Make sure to not have the door open when you turn your car off. while your car is on try opening all the door then closing them. Its most likely a door relay either broken or stuck making the car think the door is open. Ive had it happen a few times to where i turn off all my automatic light settings in fear that the lights will stay on. When they do it stays on until my battery is dead.
Those are you "convenience lights" or "go home lights".
you change them through your infotainment settings.
You can manually turn them off by hitting the lock button on your key fob a second time after locking the car. or turn off the car and just rotate your light selector from auto to parking lights then back to auto before exiting your vehicle.
Did you check the default timeout in the vehicle settings? I think the only other time I've had that issue is when I turned off the car but left the key inside
