Are we able to view incoming / outgoing text messages on the navigation screen?

Can we reply to messages through the vehicle?

Yes....including emails. But I advise you to disable the email if you get tens of emails per day. It will be notifying you non stop. Hehe.

I believe this feature is specific to certain phones. my Nexus 4 does not do any of this stuff but others do.

there is a Lexus website which tells u if your phone is compatible with this feature.

For some reason I cannot get emails with iphone only texts. Not sure iphone 5S fixed it.

Galaxy Note II - can get SMS texts, calendar reminders etc. Not sure about email... I have the standard audio display system (no Nav). You can reply but with standard pre-determined responses like "i'm driving now, can't chat".

it is all in your phone software protocol...the iPhones can receive the messages, but cant reply..I'bve seen the Galaxy's and Blackberry's be able to receive and respond..

Go to http://www.lexus.com/bluetooth/ and enter your car model and phone model, and it will tell you what you can do and what you cannot do.

True my Nexus 4 does not transmit any text or email messages ;(
