That's a good question! It has a similar front, but the connections on the rear are completely different. Is there a reason you are looking for an upgraded unit? Probably the bluetooth audio streaming I'd imagine? 2006-2009 2010-2012

yes, thats exactly why, i really dont want a super duper aftermarket system, all i care about right now is the fact that i have to use cheap third party AUX bluetooth adapters, and having to control everything thru my phone, all i really want is bluetooth audio capability. At first from what i read i though 2006-2008 would not fit because of the vents, but then i saw the 2009 and up vents are the same so i thought this would just drop in without any issues.
Is there anyway around this, in other words, a harness of something i can use?
There are no harnesses but I have the GROM VLINE2 on my 2010 and it has changed the infotainment for the better. I’d highly recommend it. They have it for a ton of different models and it adds wireless Apple CarPlay and A whole lot of other great stuff
thanks, i had that in mind before i thought of the 2010 nav system, but first that system is 600 dollars, a used 2010 is about 350, plus keeps the stock look, and my second reason was the fact that i will loose half of my glove box to place that unit.
The options for audio on this car is ridiculously bad....
There are actually lots of places to put the Grom without it being intrusive. I agree the stock look is clean. It’s why I went with the Grom. Yes it’s $600 but that’s the cost of a good head unit not including install and stuff. It’s been the second biggest quality of life improvement on my IS! If you’d like a demo, feel free to drop your number in my pm’s and I can answer any questions.

Yep, mine is tucked away mounted at the top of my Glovebox. It's actually made my infotainment system "useful"
