Default 2010 Nav Disc

I have a 2006 IS250 AWD, luxury package w/nav. I performed the nav hack so I can browse through my music while driving. Will I have any issues upgrading from the 2006 disc to 2010?

More specifically, are there any Canadian users in the Toronto area that have upgraded? Is it worth the update?

Shouldn't cause any software issues. It's just a minor firmware update with new maps.

if you use a 2010 nav upgrade on an 2006 will the screen on the nav look like the 2010? or will your nav screen still look like the 2006? (i.e. does it just upgrade the map and POI's)

Looks just like the 2006 version with updated maps. And you lose the requirement to hit the 'I Agree' button. It automatically goes to the map after 10-15 seconds.

How do you update it to 2010 or even 2011? Do you need a 2010 or 2011 disc? and Where can you get it?

^ You can buy it from Sewell for about $200. The latest version is 10.1 and it was released around September of last year (2010).

You will lose your nav hack if you upgrade your disc. ONLY the 2006 and very early 2007 IS's have the nav hack ability. If not then you'll have to do some wire splicing.

The disc can be purchased from the dealer or from our vendor(s). To perform the update, you need to pull the tool pack from your trunk and take the two little pins out. If you look at your center console where the clock is, there's two little holes to the left and right. Stick your pins in there and you can pop out the unit. Eject the disc and put in the new one. It should do a little update and you're all set!

Wire splicing? As far as I know, the Navi hack is only on the Navi cd (06 and early 07), not the Navi unit on our car.

Always wanted to update, Dubai is changing so quickly, and the stupid dealership says, they are not sure if 2010 updates works on a 2007. and the CD is way too expensive here.

You're talking about the navigation override that was available on the 5.1 DVD. The hack involves modifying the harness to temporarily stop the vehicle speed signal from reaching the nav unit.

I have the nav hack where I had to splice my wiring to cut off the speed sensor. So just to clarify, if I upgrade from the 2006 disc to the 2010 disc will I have any problems?
