I needed a new Nav unit and radio unit since they are both missing. I'm going to purchase a Nav unit and radio unit with ML seeing its only a 100miles away and very cheap.

Now does the ML unit fit the ordinary units harness? and if not is there a conversion kit for it to fit the ML unit? and where can I buy it?
I know I'm missing my centre speaker but that does not bother me. As long as I can get it to work with the rest of the car.

I'm assuming your car didn't come equipped with the ML unit? I have a Nav/ML unit and it seems to have its own harness routed through the entire car since the ML amp is located in the trunk. If your looking to get Nav your best bet is the FlyAudio Nav unit and have an aftermarket sub/amp. Most guys ditch the ML unit and go aftermarket since the ML sub is garbage..

I have a question that is somewhat related. If you buy a Lexus that has signs of radio changes and wiring harness reworking (in a 2008 GS350) How do you know if the "lower part ML CD/DVD and Tape deck" has a ML head unit? The top unit - "head unit" - is the part that has the Navi and screen, correct?

The top unit in my 2008 has a Pioneer sticker on the back side.

{ So I have a used Lexus GS350 and it has the lower ML CD/DVD/ Tape deck and no MP3 logo. The trunk has a ML AMP.}

Also, just above the Pioneer, top unit, is a small black box with a 6 or 8 wire connector. Anyone know what the small box is for? (CAN BUS Maybe).

Easiest way to find out? Pull off the passenger side cover in the trunk area. An ML amp will be obvious if it's ML.
