I have a 07 lexus is250 which i had just replaced the old factory headlight and taillight assembly with new aftermarket assembly's. After i had installed these lights the car will not start. I can turn the acc mode on but the start button doesnt change from amber to green when i press the brake to start. The brake pedal also feels really stiff and the gauges just tell me to depress the brake pedal when starting.
Any one any info on a 2009 is220d with no ignition power. Wont switch on or do anything. Checked all usuall things. Fuses.earths. ect. An info would be great
Wasnt aware of the fact that there was a fuse box under the glove box. Replaced the blown taillight fuse and car started right up. Thanks everybody for your help!
Normally, the brake pedal will retain certain amount of pressure so it came be easily depressed to start the car. But if you accidentally depressed the pedal a few times without starting the car, the pedal will be very stiff. You'll need to put extra force to press the pedal down.
Apparently, OP's issue is a blown fuse of the tail light -- which is odd that would cause the car to not start.
It was odd but i replaced the brake switch and that didnt work then found the fuse and replaced it and it started up. Im not sure how its possible the fuse was the culprit but it definitely fixed the issue.
