HID replacement ballast
Before making the purchase I wanted to reach out to make sure I’m not buying the wrong part again...
when starting my 08’is350 I will have both headlights and both fog lights. After 10-15 seconds my driver side headlight will go out. The passenger side headlight and both fogs stay on. I did a little research after hearing the dealer wanted $450 to replace it.
I saw I needed to rule out ballast vs bulb. I swapped bulbs and the same thing happened on the driver side. Leading me to think it’s the ballast, not the bulb.
I see amazon has oem replacement ballasts for $50. Are those even worth the hassle?
Any input would be awesome. Thank you.

I'd +1 a Denso ballast. Someone here already had an issue with the OE replacement from Amazon. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...w-ballast.html
Also +1 to XenonDepot, it's a single ballast at $119.99 but it's a real Denso ballast (link). Your other alternative is finding a junkyard ballast, or a used one off of eBay. I would never consider using OE replacements for cars that came with HIDs stock, always use the actual ballast that came with the car, whether used, from the dealer, or from a place like XenonDepot or TheRetrofitSource. Back on cars I've had that I tossed retrofit kits into (actually swapping HID projectors into the existing housing), I'd always have issues with no-names/OE replacement ballasts and usually need to replace them within a year. Never had issues with actual Denso/Toyota/Lexus, or Koito ballasts.
